HELD

Held

written by Rhian Green

directed by Alexander McConnell

Dr Helen Jones is supposed to be going out tonight. But, why doesn't she feel like it? What's the problem?  Little by little, she reveals a series of events: tales of loves and losses, laughter and tears, that has led to this night and to her current dilemma.

Can the girls persuade her? Maybe a little music can help...

Rhian Green – Writer and Performer

Rhian has many film, theatre and television credits including the lead characters Pati in Y Lleill/The Others (BAFTA Wales Winner Best Film 2006), Elen in award winning S4C series Caerdydd, Gemma in Stick or Twist (BBC2), and Sam in Meddwi/Drunk, which she also wrote (shortlisted Best Short Film at the Celtic Film Festival 2002). She played several roles in Diwrnod Dwynwen (Sgript Cymru), Margaret in Woyzeck (ELAN Wales) and Leanne in The River (Ruth is Stranger than Richard) at the Edinburgh Festival.

She chose acting over printmaking after she was offered the part of Meleri in Diwrnod Hollol Mindblowing Heddiw whilst still at University in Aberystwyth, and a year at the RWCMD further consolidated this path.
