ABOUT THE PLAY

This one-act play is the story of two uncommon and different friends.  One cheerfully anticipates her impending holiday to Australia, the other has little to look forward to with hope, little to look back on with pride.

BEN GOODMAN (AUTHOR OF “BORN BLUE”)

Born in London and read English at Durham University.  Credits include Disturbance Of The Self, Box Lunch At Black River and Born Blue. He lives in Golders Green with four cats and an assortment of tropical fish.

 

ANNA BARRY (DIRECTOR )Is a RADA Gold Medallist.  Stage work includes playing Helen opposite Tommy Steele in Half A Sixpence, Gertrude to Ian Mckellan’s Hamlet and Masha in Three Sisters with Hayley Mills as Irena.  In Leicester she performed the only stage production of Samuel Beckett’s Eh, Joe by special permission of the author and has premiered works by Alan Bennett and Peter Shaffer.  Recently she appeared in Talking Heads at the Northcott Theatre and the world premiere of You Can See The Moon in London.  She has performed frequently overseas and has won two Best Actress awards on the Canadian Fringe and received two Sony nominations for her solo plays on BBC radio.  TV work includes Doctor Who, General Hospital, Mad Jack and The Strauss Family.  As a director she was Associate Director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh for three years and has directed in Chile, Poland and Vienna.  She is currently directing on the musical theatre course at the Royal Academy of music.
